WARNING: Enabling SSH can compromise the security of your server if a poor password is chosen.

The root password is the "admin" password.

Enable SSH

To enable SSH on the Untangle Server:

  • Open Config->Network->Advanced->Access Rules.
  • Check the "Allow SSH" Rule.
  • Hit Apply.

Alternatively a custom "Allow SSH" rule can be created to allow SSH from only certain source addresses.

Disable SSH

To disable SSH on the Untangle Server.

  • Open Config->Network->Advanced->Access Rules.
  • Uncheck the "Allow SSH" Rule.
  • Hit Apply.
