Overview

IPv6 support in Untangle is an ongoing process. The implementation process of IPv6 support has been broken into several phases documented below. This will allow you to plan appropriately for IPv6 and describe how Untangle can fit in your network if you are using IPv6.

Phase 1 - IPv6 Passthrough

Complete

Untangle support IPv6 passthrough. In bridge mode, IPv6 packets will be passed through to the gateway appropriately allowing IPv6 networks to run Untangle with interference.

Phase 2 - IPv6 Configuration

June 2013 (10.0)

Complete

Untangle will support IPv6 configuration in Config->Network. This will allow administrators to configure Untangle with an IPv6 address and IPv6 routing information.

Phase 3 - IPv6 Application processing

Planning

Untangle will support application-layer processing of IPv6 sessions and the applications will support processing of IPv6 addresses.
