About Web Filter Submission Tool

As discussed in Web Filter Technical Specifications, Web Filter provides a robust default Block List. However, Untangle is constantly improving the accuracy of its default Block List.

With the Web Filter Submission Tool, you can help Untangle further improve the accuracy of the default Block List by submitting requests to add or remove entire domains (entire websites) or URLs (specific web pages). The process is quite simple:

  1. Use the tool to request to add or remove a domain, URL, or cookie.
  2. Provide Untangle Technical Support at least one business day to review the submission.
  • Untangle approves as-is, re-categorizes the submission, or rejects the submission. We'll keep you informed of our decision and the reasons for our decision.
  • If approved, the domain or URL is added or removed from Web Filter's default Block List.

Your contributions will greatly improve the quality of Web Filter. Websites are up one minute, and down the next. A community is best suited to handle such delays. If the entire community contributes, that's fewer domains and URLs that you need to add to your individual Web Filter configuration, though you can still do so.
