Quick Install Guide: Untangle for Ubuntu and Debian
From UntangleWiki
Sadly, Untangle on Ubuntu is officially being discontinued. Originally we were very excited to offer Untangle support on Ubuntu so that developers could work on open-source mashups like running Untangle on the same server as other apps.
It turned out that the people that ran Untangle on Ubuntu generally weren't developers; rather, they were regular users that couldn't get the ISO to install. While this wasn't a problem per se, it generated many issues for those users, as running Untangle on Ubuntu was not easy. We then marked it very explicitly for developers only, but that didn't change anything.
Now that we run on a new version of Debian (Lenny) this makes for a much better development platform anyway, so we won't be building code for Ubuntu distributions as of Untangle v6.1.
Sorry for those few currently running Untangle on Ubuntu in production. You'll continue to get signature updates, but in order to get more recent versions of the platform you'll need to install from the ISO. You can do that here.
