Tip # 1: Create a Desktop Shortcut to Untangle Server
When you launch the Java Client, install Java Web Start utility. On your desktop, rename the Java Web Start utility icon to Untangle. Each time you want to connect to the Untangle Server, simply double-click on this icon. This shortcut saves you from having to remember the IP address of the Untangle Server, and speeds up the logon process.
Tip #2: Back Up Your Settings
Untangle recommends backing up your settings. Untangle offers a Configuration Backup program as a feature of the Professional version. Each night, your Untangle server will "phone home" and back up its configuration settings to our secure servers. If something happens to your server, you can restore with the previous night's configuration. Your other option is to back up the settings yourself, and to do so, go to Backing Up Untangle Server's Configuration.
