Look & Feel
- The interface has been cleaned up significantly.
- A new "application wizard" has been added to help users choose which products the wish to use.
- The save/refresh model has been changed to a save/cancel model.
- Buttons now have colored icons
- 'admin' is now automatically filled into the login text box
- The 'status' column is now represented as row color.
- Extra unnecessary columns have been removed.
- Columns that aren't editable no longer appear to be editable. (ie date)
- The '# of events' slider in eventlogs has been removed (hard coded to max)
- The 'spread settings' button has been removed
- Increased support for keyboard navigation through forms, tables, wizards, etc.
Contextual Help
- Help buttons have been added through the user interface.
- Help buttons open a web browser to wiki.untangle.com and show you the page related to your current location.
Online Store
- The online store/toolbox model has been cleaned up significantly.
- Products now go directly from the store to the rack and turn on automatically where appropriate.
- The toolbox has been rename 'My Apps' and is much less visible.
Web Content Control
- The database has been restructured to save memory for lower memory systems
- Disabled the ability to add "https" sites to the passlist and blocklist, since Untangle Server cannot affect https traffic due to encryption.
SpamGuard
- Spam scanning has been made more efficient
- "Tarpit" implementation has changed to just block all sessions from servers on the RBL lists.
Identity Theft Blocker
- Now website are scanned and visits to phishing websites are blocked.
- This functionality can now be turned on/off in a new tab in settings panel.
- The list of websites is updated hourly.
24-hour Replacement
- 24-hour replacement now immediately backs up on install
OpenVPN
- The 'site name' can now be configure so users with many sites can have different names
Intrusion Prevention
- A cover page with basic statistics has now been added.
- The cover page has a 'no tuning required' message.
Active Directory
- Active Directory integration is now out of beta testing. For more information, check out the User Guide Section on User Directory
Infrastructure
- The bootup time is now faster.
- A key is no longer required during the Setup Wizard - one is acquired automatically.
- Many database improvements help reporting time and logging efficiency
- More complex FTP configurations are now supported when NATing.
- Reduced memory footprint for many server components for smaller memory configurations.
Remote Support
- This has been changed where customers now longer need to add a port forward if the server does not have a public IP
- The server can phone home to our support system if the 'secure remote support' setting is enabled.
Bugfixes
- Fixed a bug that caused crashes when rapidly turning on and off Intrusion Prevention.
- Losing of the 'hostname resolves publicly' setting should now be fixed
- The screensaver now works on more hardware configurations.
