Open VPN
A new Software Appliance, Open VPN, has been added to the EdgeGuard Appliance suite. The Open VPN appliance brings enterprise-class VPN services to the Metavize customer, while maintaining the ease of use and simplicity found throughout the other Software Appliances. Intrusion Prevention
Intrusion Prevention
Intrusion Prevention capabilities have been added to EdgeGuard Appliance via a new Software Appliance of the same name. The Intrusion Prevention Appliance is based on technology used in hundreds of organizations world wide, to thwart attacks (buffer overflows, remote code execution) based on the signatures of thousands of known exploits.
SNMP Support
Organizations can now use the industry standard Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP to manage their EdgeGuard Appliance. The EdgeGuard Appliance not only supports the standard MIB-II query interface, but also sending SNMP Traps.
Syslog Support
The EdgeGuard Appliance now supports syslog, the leading standard for collecting data from machines and systems on your network. EdgeGuard Appliance can send important logging information to both Windows and Unix machines via the standard syslog protocol. Email Quarantine
Email Quarantine
The EdgeGuard Appliance has been enhanced to now sequester, or quarantine emails categorized as unwanted (phishing, Spam) by various Software Appliances. End users are able to manage their quarantine of emails (review, release, delete) as well as declare certain senders "safe" via a self-service pass list feature.
